
TEST SCHEDULE:
NEW PATIENT ALLERGY TESTING is scheduled on two mornings:
Monday
and Tuesday or Tuesday and Thursday
INHALANT TESTING, which includes pollens, house dusts, and mold
spores, is done from 8:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.
On the first day of testing, you will be here approximately
one to two hours; two to two and one-half hours the second morning.
INSTRUCTIONS AND SUMMARY
After completion of testing on the second day, you will receive
instructions and a summary of the inhalant allergy workup. There
will be a consultation with one of the Doctors as soon as they
have received results of your laboratory tests.
MEDICATIONS
No antihistamines, bronchodilators, inhalers, sprays, cough medicines,
(unless ordered by the doctors), or tranquilizers are to be taken
for at least forty-eight hours before testing and none until completion
of your testing.
Cortisone should no be taken two to three weeks
before testing. If you are currently taking cortisone, DO NOT
DISCONTINUE without consulting your physician.
CLOTHING
Wear short sleeve or sleeveless clothing. You may bring a sweater
or a light jacket to slip on between testing applications if needed.
Since many of our patients are extremely sensitive
to chemicals, we must request that you do not wear perfume, cologne,
after-shave lotion, or any scented products when you come to the
office.
WEEKLY INJECTIONS
Allergy injections are made up in ten-dose vials that are charged
to your account on the second day of testing. When you receive
the tenth dose another ten-dose vial will automatically be charged
to your account.
Allergy injections will be given on MONDAY, TUESDAY,
WEDNESDAY, AND THURSDAY from 1:00 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. and WEDNESDAY
MORNINGS from 8:00 A.M. to 8:30 A.M. and 11:30 A.M. until Noon
ONLY.
It you choose to have your allergy doses mailed,
they will be sent to you on a monthly schedule unless we are instructed
otherwise.
ROUTINE INHALANT RETESTING
You will be retested approximately every three months during the
first year of treatment. The time required for retesting is usually
two hours and includes a consultation with the doctor.
OFFICE CALLS
If you are having symptoms and need to see one of the Doctors
when you come in for your allergy injection, please call and make
an appointment.
SUBLINGUAL FOOD DROPS
If sublingual food drops are prescribed for you, there will be
an additional charge of $12.00. Some insurance companies cover
this expense while others do not. Please check with your insurance
company.

ONLY EMERGENCY TELEPHONE CALLS WILL BE ACCEPTED
BY THE ALLERGY NURSES DURING TESTING SESSIONS.
CHILD CARE
There are NO facilities for childcare in our office. Only the
patient, unless and infant or toddler, is allowed in the testing
room.
IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE OSHA REGULATIONS, NO
EATING OR DRINKING IS ALLOWED IN THE TESTING ROOM.
